Mahindra Scorpio review

Mahindra India has trademarked the name ‘Scorpio Sting’ in the country. It is likely to be used for the next-gen Scorpio, which could co-exist with the current SUV. The Scorpio Sting will get a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine. The new SUV should get a four-wheel-drive system and an optional automatic transmission.

Exterior features in the Scorpio include dual-barrel projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. Inside, it comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, steering-mounted audio control, cruise control, a multi-info display, and keyless entry. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

The Mahindra Scorpio comes with two engine options: a 75PS 2.5-litre diesel and a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel in two states of tune: 120PS/280Nm and 140PS/320Nm. While the 2.5-litre unit and the 120PS 2.2-litre come with a 5-speed manual transmission, the top-spec model comes with a 6-speed manual. Power is channeled to the rear wheels while the 140PS model comes with all-wheel-drive.
