Mahindra XUV500 review

Mahindra dealerships have revealed the BS6 prices of the XUV500. Mahindra has dropped the automatic transmission, so the XUV500 will be a diesel-manual, front-wheel-drive SUV in the BS6 era.

The XUV500 is loaded with features such as LED DRLs, projector static bending headlamps, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Interior feature highlights include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Arkamys sound system, Mahindra Blue Sense automatic climate control, connected car tech with smartwatch connectivity, cruise control, voice commands, and a 6-way powered driver’s seat. On the safety front, the XUV500 is equipped with 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, a reversing camera, hill start assist, hill descent control, and an electronic stability program.

Performance

The XUV500 is exclusively available with a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine which produces 155PS of power and 360Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The XUV500 is no longer available with an all-wheel-drive system. The SUV has an integrated starter-generator which features brake regeneration and idle start-stop tech. The Mahindra XUV500 has an ARAI-claimed fuel economy of 15kmpl. The 2.2-litre petrol engine has not been revised in any way and still develops 140PS of maximum power and 320Nm of peak torque. The petrol motor is available with a 6-speed automatic transmission only.
