Honda City Hybrid

Honda has launched the City Hybrid with prices starting from Rs 19.5 lakh in a fully loaded ZX Sensing trim. It gets a hybrid powertrain with a combined output of 126PS which is fed using a 0.7kWh battery pack for the electric motor. Another prime addition is the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and electronic parking brake with auto hold, two segment-first features.

Honda has priced the hybrid sedan at Rs 19.5 lakh (ex-showroom). While it has no direct rival in India, its pricing puts it in contention with the 1.5-litre TSI variants of the Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus.

Engine

Under the hood of the hybrid sedan is a 1.5-litre petrol unit (98PS/127Nm) along with an electric motor with a peak output of 109PS and 253Nm. They combine together to give an output of 126PS/253Nm which is delivered to the wheels using an e-CVT automatic gearbox. It has a claimed mileage of 26.5kmpl.

Features

The City Hybrid features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch semi-digital driver’s display, electric sunroof, and connected car tech with smart watch integration. Safety equipment includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and Honda Sensing ADAS systems such as automatic high beam assist, road departure mitigation system, and collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist.

Honda SensingΩ Uses a high performance front camera with a wide-angle, far-reaching detection system to help alert the driver and minimise risk of accidents. New Two-Tone Ivory and Black colours occupy the interior space of the New City e:HEV. The plush interiors pack in a refreshing vibe. A large armrest at the centre console with Electronic Parking Brake amplifies the impressive sedan-like presence. Slide behind the wheel of the New City e:HEV and you’re greeted with a New 17.7 cm (7 in) HD FULL COLOUR TFT METER console that displays multi-information including e:HEV power flow meters, Honda Sensing support and various other alerts and warnings.

Electric Regenerative Braking Combines with Hydraulic Braking to bring the vehicle to a quick stop, while self charging the lithium-ion battery pack. Cargo room in the New City e:HEV efficiently designed. Within the cabin, nifty convenience features highlight its user-friendliness. The New City e:HEV utilizes ultra-high tensile strength steel plates in its frame, including Super High Formability 980 MPa grade steel. It boasts the 1st in Segment^ LaneWatchTM camera system and i-SRS 6 Airbag System with Quick Deployment Technology apart from a host of other safety features
